LONGVIEW, Wash., November 6, 2014— The Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund has granted $9,400 to Community Home Health & Hospice (Community) for medical equipment. Weyerhaeuser funded nearly $154,000 to community projects this year. For Community, the grant will go towards the purchase of six CoaguChek XS kits that will benefit patients across its four-county service area.

On 11/3/14, United States Marshalls arrested Anthony James Martini DOB 3/19/73 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for the September 17, 2014 robbery of the Fibre Federal Credit Union branch in the Triangle Center. Martini had been identified by Longview detectives as the suspect in the robbery. Martini is the prime suspect in at least nine other bank robberies in four different states since the Fibre Federal Credit Union robbery. 2014 Downtown Longview Christmas Parade
You are cordially invited to participate in the 2014 Christmas Parade in Downtown Longview. The parade will be held Saturday, December 6 at 5 pm. The theme is “Home For The Holidays”. This is the 34th year we’ve had a twilight parade.
There is no charge to enter the Christmas parade, but the Longview Downtowners would appreciate any contribution to help expand the decorations from downtown Longview to the Civic Center.
Carlos Carreon, Health and Human Services Director, was recognized by the Board of Cowlitz County Commissioners today at its regular meeting. Mr. Carreon received the Public Health Leadership Award last month at the Washington State Public Health Association (WSPHA) meeting. The WSPHA annual award recognizes the outstanding leadership in areas such as public health advocacy, research, education, leadership and/or equity and social justice.
Additional capacity will position Port for growth
Longview, WA - The Port of Longview is launching a $10 million Industrial Rail Corridor expansion project that will increase cargo-movement efficiency for existing and future customers.
