School is out for the summer on June 12 – what does that mean for school zone speeds?

All photo enforcement cameras will be turned off during the summer break which begins June 13. However, reduced speed zones (20 MPH maximum speed) will still be in effect at all Longview elementary schools and Monticello Middle School due to summer school or other programs where children will be present during the summer months.

At their regularly scheduled board meeting Tuesday evening, the United Way of Cowlitz & Wahkiakum Counties elected a new slate of officers for the coming year.  These officers will work closely with newly appointed Executive Director David Green to raise funds for local agencies and address the needs of our communities.  The officers are:

President, John Anderson

Vice President, Margaret Lapic

Secretary, Terry McLaughlin

Treasurer, Graham Bailey
