REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Adult-Dislocated Worker WIOA Title I Services

The Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council (SWWDC) is seeking innovative and collaborative proposals for the delivery of One-Stop services under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title I Adult and Dislocated Worker programs in Clark and Cowlitz/Wahkiakum counties.

Proposals are due May 13, 2016 by 4 p.m. Pacific Time.

Bidders' conferences for additional information will be held on April 19.

Kids' Fish-In at Martin's Dock on Saturday April 30th.

The Longview Parks & Recreation will again be offering the Lake Sacajawea Kids' Fish-In at Martin's Dock on Saturday April 30th. 

This year they are hoping to have 420 youth between the ages of 5 and 14 sign up and participate.  WDFW is going to provide around 3,000 Trout for this years event.  Merchandise donated will be for the "Gift" bags for each participant and monetary donation will go toward necessary expenses such as printing, security, additional merchandise for the "Gift" bags and net cleaning.

 The Cowlitz Economic Development Council began working with the NW Innovations  in 2013 and accompanied Governor Inslee on a Trade Mission to China in which we learned more about the project and its excellent fit with the Port of Kalama.  Since that time, Governor Inslee returned to the Port of Kalama in August of 2015 to praise the company for its commitment to use low carbon emissions technology in it manufacturing process.

Cowlitz Economic Development Council Annual Meeting

Please join us for the 2016 CEDC Annual Meeting on February 26th!  Registration for the event at the Cowlitz County Regional Conference Center will begin at 11:30am with the program/lunch at Noon.  We should conclude no later than 1:15.  This year we are featuring a program to inform the EDC community of the results of the 40 for 2020 event held in late January.  In addition, we will have an update on clients and activities in Cowlitz County.

OLYMPIA…A majority of the state Senate voted today against confirming the state transportation secretary appointed by Gov. Jay Inslee. The decision means Lynn Peterson is out as head of the state Department of Transportation after three years.
