National Night Out
The Longview Police Department would like to remind everyone that National Night Out is
Tuesday, August 7, 2018. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that
promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our
neighborhoods safer, and more caring places to live.
The Longview Police Department in partnership with the Highland’s Neighborhood
Association are hosting the event at Lake Sacajawea-Hemlock Plaza from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00

Camp Cedars Bereavement Camp Set for August

LONGVIEW, Wash., July 31, 2018 – Community Home Health & Hospice’s Camp Cedars, a 3-day, residential camp for children who have experienced the death of a family member or close friend, is scheduled for August 17-19, 2018. The camp is the end of year finale for children who have been attending grief support groups since September 2017.

Come to the Longview Public Library to experience the exciting and energetic music of The
Kilted Man, Matthew Gurnsey, August 15, 6:00 p.m. in the Main Reading Room on the second
floor. Gurnsey delights audiences with his rousing performances of traditional Irish and
Scottish music. Through the marriage of wit and finesse, he charms his audiences, sweeping
them into tales of wayward voyages, unrequited love and the vibrantly colorful lives of the
every-man beloved of many Irish tales.

The City of Kelso has an opening on the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. Businesses within the City Limits of Kelso and required to collect tax under RCW 67.28.1817 are eligible to apply.

Commissions, boards, and committees are a great way for businesses to give back to their community without committing to a great deal of time.
