Road Closure Memorial Park Drive at 38th Avenue

The City of Longview has issued a permit to J.P. Huhta Underground, LLC, for public improvements to Memorial Park Drive, west of 38th Avenue.

On Monday, July 23rd at 2:00 p.m. through Tuesday, July 24th at 7:00 a.m., Memorial Park Drive will be closed, approximately 200 feet west of 38th Avenue for asphalt paving.

Vehicular access to Woods Storage off of Memorial Park Drive will be closed during paving.

Detours will be in effect.

County to meet regarding future management of the Cowlitz County Headquarters Landfill

The Board of Cowlitz County Commissioners will meet Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. to consider the future management of the Cowlitz County Headquarters Landfill.
Presentations will be given by Cowlitz County Public Works and Republic Services.
The Commissioners will take public comment regarding the merits of the proposals and potential benefits to the community moving forward.

Albert & Lacey Grady of SERVPRO of Longview/Kelso and other high-performing franchisees were recognized during an Awards Extravaganza at the annual event, which was attended by nearly 3,000 owners, key staff, and corporate representatives.

City of Kelso Announces Water Restrictions for Utility Customers

Kelso, WA – July 13, 2018

The City of Kelso collects its water by means of a sub-surface system called a Ranney collector. Water is extracted from beneath the bed of the Cowlitz River. Production capability of the collector is directly dependent on the level and flow volume of the Cowlitz River.

The CRAFTED Beer and Food Festival is a partnership between the City of Longview Parks and Recreation Department and the Rotary Club of Longview with the help and guidance of Ashtown Brewery. CRAFTED is a community event bringing together the great taste of handcrafted brewing, delicious artisan foods, and a day full of fun in historic R.A. Long Park.

10 Breweries, 3 Cideries, unique food vendors from around the northwest, Cowlitz County Cornhole Tournament, Spikeball, and other yard games.

Lower Columbia College is looking for eight families to host female Japanese exchange students from September 2 to 17.

The students are visiting from Atomi University in Japan to take courses, visit the region and improve their English.
