New L&I webinars provide details on new agricultural overtime law

To help agricultural employers and workers understand the changes in the new law regarding overtime for agricultural workers, the Washington Department of Labor & Industries has scheduled a series of webinars.

With passage of Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5172, dairy workers will be eligible for overtime after working 40 hours in a workweek effective July 25, 2021.

Street improvements are scheduled to start on California Way from Baltimore Street to the 7th Avenue intersection on Thursday, July 1, 2021, 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. This is a full street closure on California Way from Baltimore Street to 7th Avenue and a traffic detour will be provided around work area using other streets.

Motorist should expect delays during this time. Local access to business will be provided by Contractor during closure.

Pursuant to Ordinance No. 3357 adopted by the Longview City Council and codified as LMC 7.30, Severe Weather Shelters, City Manager Kurt Sacha has determined that a severe weather event is imminent based on forecasted hot weather conditions beginning Saturday, June 26, 2021. High temperatures are currently predicted by the National Weather Service to be near or above 100 degrees.
