NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with RCW Chapter 42.30, that the City

Council of the City of Longview, Washington, will conduct a workshop session in the

Longview City Hall Training Room, 1525 Broadway, Longview, on Thursday, October

5th, at 6:00 p.m. The topics of discussion follow. Final disposition shall be taken on

no other matter.

Liquor and Cannabis Board recognizes Longview Police Department

Longview Police Department is one of two law enforcement agencies to be recognized by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board. The LCB Partnership in Public Safety Award will be presented October 9 at Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Washington.

LPD Chief Jim Duscha will attend the awards ceremony to accept the honor, which also will be given to Wenatchee Police Department for efforts in capturing “place of last drink” data during fiscal year 2017.

Remittance processing services for city utility payments

Since 2007, the City of Longview has contracted with Clark County and Clark Public Utilities (Joint Processing Center) for remittance processing services. They will no longer be providing this service, therefore the city is proposing to contract with a new vendor, Retail Lockbox, Inc.

Retail Lockbox, Inc. a private company located in Seattle, WA has offered to process the City’s utility payments in the same efficient manner and at the same price as the previous vendor.

Road Repair / Temporary Lane Closure – Kelso Drive

Road Repairs:

Drivers may encounter delays as road crews repair a pavement section due to road settling in the 400 block of Kelso Drive Tuesday, September 26th. Repair operations will require the temporary closure of both inside lanes of Kelso Drive from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The outside lanes are expected to remain open and no impacts are expected to the local driveways for McDonald’s or the Red Lion Hotel. The road repairs are weather dependent.
