Nichols Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation Project

Nichols Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation Project

The City of Longview has contracted with Advanced Excavating Specialists to construct
improvements along Nichols Boulevard from Washington Way to Louisiana Street.
Construction on the project began May 6, 2019.

Asphalt pavement work was completed July 27, 2019. Remaining work on the project includes
curb ramp work, striping, and signal work. This work is scheduled to last through August 30,
2019.

Water System Flushing Scheduled Area #8

The City of Longview utility crews will begin flushing water mains west of SR 432 in the area
of Willow Grove, on Friday, August 16, 2019.

Work will begin at 6:30 a.m. and end by 4:30 p.m. Advisory signs will be posted in the area.
Flushing may stir up sediment that can enter residential plumbing. Residents should refrain
from using water while flushing is occurring.

Longview, Washington – The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) recently honored the Port of Longview with two Awards of Excellence as part of their 53rd annual Communications Awards Program which honors member ports throughout the Western Hemisphere for outstanding communications projects.

Longview Police arrest bank robbery suspect

Thursday afternoon, August 8, 2019, Longview Police officers arrested a 67-year-old man after he reportedly robbed US Bank at 1452 Hudson St.

Officers were dispatched to the bank at 1:10 p.m. after an employee reported a man in his 60's had just robbed the bank.

At about 2:20 p.m. Longview officers arrested the suspect on Hudson Street about nine blocks from the bank after surveillance camera photos were distributed to police.
