Suspicious fire damages Country Village

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene of a commercial structure fire at 1052 Washington Way in Longview at 3:06 a.m. this morning. During the response, dispatch advised that Longview Police were on scene reporting heavy black smoke and flames to the Country Village Nutrition Shoppe.
First arriving crews found an exterior fire and quickly extinguished it. Other firefighters searched the structure and roof for fire that had spread to those areas and extinguished.

The City of Longview would like to remind residents that while conducting a garage sale does
not require a permit, garage sales are a regulated activity within city limits. Sales of secondhand
merchandise conducted from residences and designated as garage sales, estate sales, yard sales,
and/or moving sales are allowed without a permit provided they are conducted under the
following requirements:

Gov. Jay Inslee today announced that the state is moving toward a statewide June 30 reopening date and that all counties in Washington will move to Phase 3 of the Healthy WA: Roadmap to Recovery reopening plan effective May 18 until June 30.

The announcement comes after the governor paused phase movement for two weeks to review an emerging flattening trend in statewide COVID-19 data. As of today, the plateau observed in COVID-19 activity has become a decline.

Fibre Federal Credit Union brings you Friday Night Flicks - a Drive in Movie experience in
May, located in the YMCA parking lot. The parking lot opens at 7:45 p.m. and movies will
begin at approximately 8:45 p.m.

The next two movies are May 14th, The Avengers (original), and May 21st features the
original Star Wars: A New Hope.

Audio will be accessible via FM radio signal. The movies are free and is a first come first
serve event until parking capacity is reached.
