Longview, Washington – The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) recently honored the Port of Longview with two Awards of Excellence as part of their 53rd annual Communications Awards Program which honors member ports throughout the Western Hemisphere for outstanding communications projects.

Water System Flushing Scheduled Area #5

The City of Longview utility crews will begin flushing water mains in the areas between Tennant Way and the Columbia River from Oregon Way to the Cowlitz River on Friday, August 9, 2019.

Work will begin at 6:30 a.m. and end by 4:30 p.m. Advisory signs will be posted in the area.

Flushing may stir up sediment that can enter residential plumbing. Residents should refrain from using water while flushing is occurring.

  • Removed the bid award for the Mint Farm RWTP Pressure Filter Repairs and postponed consideration to a future meeting.
  • Approved Ordinance No. 3405 amending the tree removal and replacement policy.
  • Adopted Resolution No. 2306 declaring certain equipment surplus to the needs of the City and authorizing the city manager to dispose of the equipment.
  • Received the Fire Department 2018 Annual Report.

Road Closure Columbia Heights Road between Fishers Lane and Parkview Drive for Chip Seal

The City of Longview will be Chip Sealing Columbia Heights Road. The work will be taking
place between Fishers Lane and Parkview Drive. Construction work is scheduled to begin on
Tuesday, August 6, 2019 and is estimated to be completed Thursday, August 8, between the
hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Columbia Heights Road will be open between 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
