Water System Flushing Scheduled Area #7

The City of Longview utility crews will begin flushing water mains in the areas between 30th
Avenue and Coal Creek, north of Ocean Beach Highway on Friday, August 23, 2019.

Work will begin at 6:30 a.m. and end by 4:30 p.m. Advisory signs will be posted in the area.
Flushing may stir up sediment that can enter residential plumbing. Residents should refrain
from using water while flushing is occurring.

State extends deadline for reports related to paid family and medical leave

 

If you missed the original July 31 deadline for reporting wages and making premium payments in connection with the state’s Paid Family and Medical Leave program, you’re still not too late.

 

Employment Security reports that it has extended the reporting deadline one month, to August 31. Benefits will be available to employees starting January 1, 2020.

Nichols Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation Project

Nichols Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation Project

The City of Longview has contracted with Advanced Excavating Specialists to construct
improvements along Nichols Boulevard from Washington Way to Louisiana Street.
Construction on the project began May 6, 2019.

Asphalt pavement work was completed July 27, 2019. Remaining work on the project includes
curb ramp work, striping, and signal work. This work is scheduled to last through August 30,
2019.
