Water system flushing scheduled for area #3

On Friday, April 12, 2019, the City of Longview utility crews will be flushing water mains in the
area between 15th Avenue and the Cowlitz River from Ocean Beach Highway to California Way
and Baltimore Street. Work will begin at 6:30 a.m. and end by 4:30 p.m. Advisory signs will be
posted in the area.

Longview Police Department Announces Retirement & Promotions

After serving in various positions during his 36-year law enforcement career, Sgt. Dixie Wells is retiring from Longview Police Department.

Longview PD hired Wells in April 1983. During his time with the department, Sgt. Wells held a variety of assignments from patrol, detectives, administration, community services and more. He was promoted to corporal in 1994 and to sergeant in 1996.

The City of Longview has contracted with Tapani Underground from Vancouver, Washington to replace an aging sewer main along 34th Avenue

and the existing sewer pump station located at Bailey Park.

 

Concrete street restoration has started along 34th Avenue between Nebraska Street and Olympia Way next to the CDID slough crossing.
