Do you enjoy helping children and youth? Believe in the power of reading? Have time to dedicate to your community this summer? Become a Summer Reading volunteer!
The Longview Public Library is looking for volunteers to dedicate 2-6 hours a week assisting with the library’s Summer Reading Program in June and July. Volunteers staff the Summer Reading area all hours the library is open – you select the shifts that work best for you. Volunteers help youth and families sign up for the Summer Reading Program with Beanstack, our online program, as well as redeem prizes, promote library events, and encourage learning throughout the summer. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old, attend a volunteer orientation, and pass a criminal background check. Applications are available at the library checkout desks and at our website at www.longviewlibrary.org/teens-volunteer.php
