Nichols Blvd Pavement Rehabilitation Project - Washington Way to Louisiana Street
The City of Longview has contracted with Advanced Excavating Specialists to construct improvements along Nichols Boulevard from Washington Way to Louisiana Street. Construction on the project will begin May 6, 2019. The project will update pedestrian ramps and pedestrian signals, modify existing traffic signals, and replace the existing asphalt pavement. Improvements will begin with replacement of the pedestrian ramps throughout the project corridor. This work is scheduled to last through June 28, 2019.
Single lane closures, side street closures, and sidewalk closures will be in place for pedestrian ramp improvements. Vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be routed around the work zone. Traffic delays along Nichols Blvd will be limited. During the week of July 1 to July 5, 2019, work on the project will be stopped to accommodate Go Fourth Festival events.
Asphalt pavement replacement will begin July 8, 2019. This work will grind off the existing asphalt surface and replace it with new asphalt on Nichols Blvd. Lane closures and traffic detours will be in effect for this work. Pavement replacement work is scheduled to last through the first week of August.
All dates are subject to change based on construction progress and weather. In order to avoid delays, motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
