City of Kelso Lifts Water Use Restrictions

The City of Kelso will lift the water use restrictions for its utility customers, effective October 9, 2018. The voluntary use restrictions were set in place on July 13th of this year to promote conservation due to very low flows in the Cowlitz River that feeds the City’s Ranney collector water intake.

“Cooler temperatures and wetter weather have resulted in upwardly trending river levels, and water consumption is experiencing normal seasonal decline,” said City Engineer Mike Kardas. “Given that the Ranney collector is functioning within its normal operating parameters, there is no need to continue the voluntary restrictions imposed in July.”
The City thanks its utility customers for their conservation efforts throughout the summer.
