Determination of severe weather event

Pursuant to Ordinance No. 3357 codified as LMC 7.30, Severe Weather Shelters, City
Manager Kurt Sacha has determined that a severe weather event is imminent based on
forecasted cold weather conditions beginning Sunday, December 2. Low temperatures in the
Longview area are currently predicted to be at or below 32 degrees beginning that night and
for the next few days.

Port of Longview Commissioners vote to appoint Allan Erickson to District 3 position

In case you have not yet heard, the Port of Longview Commissioners voted to appoint Allan Erickson to the District 3 position vacated by Bob Bagasson in September.

Erickson is a life-long Cowlitz County resident, former local business owner and active member of the community.

We are looking forward to him joining our team. He will officially be sworn in to his position as Commissioner at the Port’s December 12th Commission meeting.

Determination of severe weather event concluded

City Manager Kurt Sacha has determined that effective Monday, November 26 the severe
weather event designated on November 17 will conclude. The weather forecast now indicates
that low temperatures in Longview will be consistently above freezing (32 degrees).
