Change in Film at Longview Public Library

As part of the Summer Reading Program at the Cowlitz Public Libraries, movies are shown on July 1 & 2nd.   Despicable Me will be shown Tuesday, July 1, 11 a.m. and Catching Fire will be screened at 6 p.m., at the Kelso Public Library.  Mr. Peabody & Sherman will be NOT be shown as its release date was pushed back to the fall.  Instead the new LEGO ™ Movie will be shown Wednesday, July 2, 3 p.m. at the Longview Public Library.  The LEGO ™ Movie is 100 minutes, rated PG and it’s theatrical release was February 7, 2014.

As the public prepares for the big holiday next week Gifford Pinchot National Forest would like to send out a reminder about the prohibited use or possession of fireworks of any kind on National Forest Lands.

Longview Recreation Summer Food & Fun Program kicks-off Monday, June 23rd and runs through

August 22nd at Archie Anderson Park.  Volunteers are needed over the summer to help set up, check

kids in & out, assist with fun activities and help get healthy foods to kids in our community!  Program is Monday-Friday, 11:30am – 3:30pm.

Proposed State-of-the-Art Export Terminal on Columbia River
On Track to Create Hundreds of Family-Wage Jobs in Cowlitz County

LONGVIEW, Wash. – June 12, 2014 – Millennium Bulk Terminals-Longview, LLC today announced that William H. Chapman, formerly a senior environmental law partner at K&L Gates, joined the company on June 8 as chief executive officer. Millennium operates an existing import facility and has plans to build a world-class export facility on the Columbia River.
