We will start our new year off with a special guest on January 8, 2019 at the Longview Women's Club, 635-21st. Avenue at 10:00 a.m. Our special guest this month will be our newest PUD Commissioner Duane Dalgleish who is a life long resident of Longview and now represents  us on the PUD Commission. Join us a find out what looks ahead for our PUD. Coffee and Donuts will be there. Looking forward to an exciting year with community members.

Live local Police auction of unclaimed property

For the first time in more than 18 years, Longview Police Department will be auctioning
unclaimed found and seized property in town rather than in another location. The live auction will
be held 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19 at the McClelland Arts Center, 751 Delaware

Nichols Boulevard closure between 25th and 26th Avenues for tree removal

The City of Longview Urban Forestry Department will be removing a tree located on Nichols
Boulevard between 25th and 26th Avenues.

Work is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5 and is estimated to be completed
by 4:00 p.m. Nichols Boulevard will be closed between 25th and 26th Avenues to all traffic.
Traffic traveling on Nichols Boulevard will be detoured around the work site.

To avoid delays, motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.

January Koth Gallery Show at Longview Public Library

The Koth Memorial Gallery at Longview Public Library will be showing paintings by artist
Judy MacLeod from January 5 through January 31. There will be a public reception for the
show on January 12 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Koth Memorial Gallery. The glass
case in the Koth Gallery will also feature a variety of work from artist Tammy Jorgenson from
January 5 through January 31.

Free Bereavement Support Group for Survivors of Suicide Loss

Starting January 23, 2019, at Community Home Health & Hospice in Longview

 

LONGVIEW, Wash., December 26, 2018 – Community Home Health & Hospice is offering an eight-week, free grief support group for survivors of suicide loss at the James Avery Center for Grief Support, 1000 – 12th Ave., Longview, WA. The group meets Wednesdays from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm, from January 23, 2019 – March 13, 2019. Facilitated by Mary Fleming, MSW, and Rick Sievers, Hospice Volunteer.

Ring in the Noon Year!

The Longview Public Library invites children ages six and younger, along with their grownups

and siblings, to celebrate a countdown to noon on New Year’s Eve!

 

Toddlers and preschoolers don’t need to worry about missing out at midnight, because at this

small party just for them we’ll have crafts, dancing, and a balloon drop! The Happy Noon Year

party begins at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, December 31. Registration is not
