Youth Gaming Group at the Longview Library
Middle and high school youth are invited to come learn and play Tales from the Loop, the new sci-fi role-playing game that takes place in an alternate 1980’s reality. In the game, players create teenaged characters who solve Mysteries connected to the Loop, a facility containing the world's largest particle accelerator. In the Mysteries, characters escape their everyday problems (homework, nagging parents, bullies) to be part of something exciting, magical, and dangerous as they encounter the strange machines and bizarre creatures brought into being by the Loop.
Our first meeting—Session 0—will be held Saturday, January 6, at 2:00 p.m. in the MJO Activity Room. We'll start with a short crash course on tabletop role-playing games, go over the Tales from the Loop setting and rules, and start creating characters. From there, we may have time to jump into the game itself, or wait until the next session on January 20. This game is intended to be ongoing and will meet every other Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. No experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided.
