Surviving the Gig Economy – Free SCORE Seminar

Surviving the Gig Economy – Free SCORE Seminar

Join SCORE for another great small business seminar to get your business off to the right start
in 2019. You see them everywhere these days – Gig Workers. Some estimates show them as
34% of the work force. They are involved in many types of independent work including;
drivers for Uber & Lyft, homeowners offering rentals through Airbnb, independents working on
specific software development projects, musicians performing ‘gigs’, and pro tem healthcare
professionals.

January 19, 2019
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Longview Public Library Auditorium

From this SCORE Workshop, you'll gain realistic insights as you participate in, or consider
joining the Gig Economy. You will learn about the issues of adaptability, time & money
management. In addition, you will get the “rules of the road” that apply to independent workers
and the running of a successful business and learn about license & tax issues unique to
temporary service providers.

Normally this seminar fee is $35 per person. However, through the generosity of a grant
provided by the Friends of the Longview Library, all seminar fees are waived. Further, seminar
attendees may later receive free, confidential SCORE mentoring to help you personalize your
success in the Gig Economy. A copy of all presentation slides and other course materials will
be emailed to registrants shortly prior to the seminar.

To register, visit www.scorevancouver.org or call the Longview Public Library at 360-442-
