SCORE Small Business Seminars Free at your Library

Beginning January 27, 2018, SCORE will be presenting a series of small business seminars to the public for free at the Longview Public Library. If you have been thinking about starting a business or have been working on continuing and growing your small business, SCORE has useful information you can use and offers free mentoring help to get you the information you need to succeed.

Surviving the Gig Economy

January 27, 2018

10am to 1pm

Library MJO Room

You see them everywhere these days – Gig Workers.  Some estimates show them as 34% of the work force. They are involved in many types of independent work including; drivers for Uber & Lyft, homeowners offering rentals through Airbnb, independents working on specific software development projects, musicians performing ‘gigs’, and healthcare. Through this workshop, you'll gain realistic insights as you participate in, or consider joining the Gig Economy, learn about the issues of adaptability, time & money management, get the “rules of the road” that apply to independent workers and the running of a successful business and learn about license & tax issues.

You can attend all the workshops, or pick those that will suit your needs the best. Visit the Longview Public Library web page for a list of the seminars scheduled for 2018. You can visit scorevancouver.org to register for seminars being offered. All of the Longview Library seminars are being offered free to the community through a generous donation from the Friends of the Longview Public Library.
