LongCon III: Who Knew Dressing Up Was This Much FUN?
It is that time of year, again! LongCon at the Longview Public Library is February 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to celebrate pop culture and hang out at our all-age, family-friendly mini fan convention. There will be crafts, discussions, and an amazing costume contest for ages 0 to 100+.
The costume contest starts at 1:00 p.m. and you must register by 12:45 p.m. to participate. There are three age divisions: children 0 to 12, teens 13-17, and adults 18+. Costumes can be of any comics, anime, gaming, fantasy, sci-fi, or other fantastic fandom. Everyone is encouraged to wear a costume! And, if you’re going to wear a costume, you might as well be in the Costume Contest! Participating in the Costume Contest could even win you a cool prize! You can download the entry form and see all the rules on www.longviewlibrary.org/longcon.php.

Fandoms Unite at Longview Library Mini-Con
The Longview Public Library invites pop culture fans of all ages to the Third Annual LongCon on Saturday, February 17, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. LongCon is the mini fan convention that celebrates all fandoms. Whether you love comics, gaming, or anime, TV, books, or movies, you are welcome here! Bring your enthusiasm, your fan gear, and your friends and family; we will provide the snacks, a gaming room, kid-friendly crafts, vendor gallery, and opportunities to connect with other fans.
This year our discussion panel’s focus is Anime 101. Come learn about anime, get recommendations for this animated art form, and share your favorites along with our local panelist of anime fans, starting at 11:30 a.m. The cosplay contest also returns at 1:00 p.m. with prizes for best kid, teen, and adult costumes. Contestants must register for the contest this year—download a registration form on our website or register by 12:45 p.m. on the day of the Con.
LongCon is free and open to the public, thanks to generous support from the Friends of the Longview Public Library and our super volunteers. Are you interested in volunteering or vending at LongCon? Get in touch! Visit our website at longviewlibrary.org or call 360.442.5300 for more information.
