The City of Kelso, Six Rivers Trail, Cowlitz Economic Development Council, Pathways2020, and Connecting Cowlitz Communities (40 for 2020) are pleased to celebrate the completion of Kelso’s Grade Street improvements that were completed over the summer. The Grade Street improvements were made possible due to a Transportation Alternatives Program Grant through the Federal Surface Transportation Program. These funds have allowed the creation of bicycle lanes, safe pedestrian crossings, and to make traveling in Kelso significantly safer for active transportation users.
The improvements on Grade Street have subsequently aligned with the implementation of the Six Rivers Trail. The Six Rivers Trail is a public, multi-use trail generally following the Interstate 5 corridor that spans Cowlitz County. The Six Rivers Trail will serve as the backbone of the regional trail system for Southwest Washington. Grade Street is a key connection within this project.
We hope that you and/or your representatives and colleagues will join us to commemorate the above projects on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM. We will meet in the Three Rivers Mall parking lot that parallels Grade Street near Izzy’s Pizza and Buffet. In case of inclement weather we will have shelter for the ceremony.
We will begin with brief speeches from key stakeholders and end with a Ribbon Cutting and photograph conducted by the Kelso Longview Chamber of Commerce.
We look forward to acknowledging all of our partners that have made these projects possible.
