Hope everyone is doing well, and staying healthy.  The lodge is struggling since we’ve closed for the Covid directive.  No income can make things difficult in a hurry.  But the Moose will prevail, and here’s a way to help…

We’ve had to stand in lines, make phone calls, take uneventful trips to the store, and even drive to Astoria, but we’ve procured some Prime Rib, so we’re going to do a takeout dinner this Friday (May 15).

This service is brought to you by the Friends of the Longview Public Library and is available to everyone with a Longview Public Library card. Longview School District is currently serving walk-up school lunches at five locations. As such, the school zone flashing signs will be operating 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the following locations:

St. Helens Elementary
Kessler Elementary
Monticello Middle School
Northlake Elementary
Mint Valley Elementary

National Forests in Washington plan for late May phased opening

 

 The USDA Forest Service will maintain its alignment with state “Stay at Home” orders and the first phase of Washington state’s “Reopening of America” plan by conducting a comprehensive review of the agency’s developed recreation sites in Washington in the coming weeks. The agency aims to lift select closures at many Washington national forest trailheads and developed recreation sites by late May.

Longview Police parking tickets can now be paid on-line

Beginning May 5, 2020, parking tickets issued by Longview Police Department can be paid on-line. A link to the on-line payment portal is available on the police department’s website: https://www.mylongview.com/337/Parking-Enforcement. From the website, go to the section titled “Where Do I Pay My Parking Ticket?” and click on the “REMIT ONLINE” link.
